Certification of Authentic Wild Ginseng

Certification recognized by Authority of China Government

According to China National Standard (GB/T 18765-2015) formulated by China National Ginseng Products Quality Supervision Inspection Centre (NGPQSIC), all dried wild ginseng must qualify various rigorous tests and verifications in order to get the official certificate of authenticity. Each wild ginseng is registered with unique identification number on the official website of NGPQSIC (http://zx.shenrong.org/) for easy verification.
Conditions
  • Place the wild ginseng on a white porcelain plate under natural light and observe it indoor without direct sunlight.
  • All dried wild ginseng must be grown for more than 15 years and meet the following conditions:
  1. Integrity (untreated and completely natural)
  2. Cleanliness
  3. No impact of pest and disease
  4. No artificially change of colour
  5. Grow under forest naturally for minimum 15 years
  6. No artificially change of appearance
Age Determination
  • The age of a wild ginseng is determined by traces, skin colour, texture and number of the rhizomes (rootstalks).
  • Each wild ginseng must be grown under forest with no human interference after sowing for minimum 15 years.
  • Artificial foreign objects in the body of each wild ginseng can be detected by metal detectors or X-ray machines.
Specification
  • Examine each wild ginseng using a scale with sensitivity of ±0.1g.
Humidity
  • The moisture content of each wild ginseng’s initial examination must not exceed 5 mg.
  • All dried wild ginseng must be stored in a warehouse with a humidity below 30-40% and a temperature below -15 degrees to keep the wild ginseng from rotting.
Package
  • Each wild ginseng must be packed into a moisture-proof, non-toxic, odor-free wooden box.
  • Each wild ginseng must be secured nicely on a red flat board and its certificate of authenticity must be placed in the box.
  • During the delivery process, it must be ensured that the vehicle and storage compartment are hygienic, odor-free, insect-proof, rain-proof, moisture-proof and sun-proof.
  • It is strictly forbidden to place the wild ginseng products with toxic, contaminant and raw meat products during packaging and delivery process.
Certificate of Authenticity
  • NGPQSIC will issue a certificate of authenticity which indicates product name, grade, quality, date, unique identification number and photo of wild ginseng, vendor’s name and official stamp of NGPQSIC department.
  • The certificate of authenticity is registered on the official website of NGPQSIC (http://zx.shenrong.org) for easy verification.
Ginsenosides
  • The ginsenosides Rb1 and Re+Rg1 (the natural compounds of wild ginseng) must qualify all the stringent tests and standards of China National Standard (GB/T 18765-2015).
  • If the physico-chemical index of wild ginseng powder and wild ginseng slices do not pass the meticulous tests, the wild ginseng will be judged as unqualified to get the certificate of authenticity.
